I chose this cartoon for my archive dive because it was the first drawing I did after an eight year hiatus. It was inspired by New Yorker cartoonist George Booth.
While I was quite pleased with myself at the time, I'd do this differently today. The gag line is too long. Anytime I type out the joke and it's longer than three lines, I try to rethink it. A single panel works best when the whole image snaps in place immediately, rather than having to jump from the image to the text and back again, but we all have to live with our mistakes. See you Wednesday.
