Sagging Spirits

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. Today's cartoon is about the sense of sentiment around all special occasions, whether Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. This is probably as sentimental as I'll ever get in public.

I've eluded about a publishing arrangement in several previous posts, but I'm not yet at liberty to say more at this time. The big change you'll see is me working in color. The last two weeks have been spent colorizing cartoons in my archive for print. It'll be interesting to see what that does to the unit cost of my next book.

Thanks To You

Today's cartoon reaches WAAAYYYY back about 15 years. You'll notice a significant difference in the way the characters look, especially the son.

I'm going to be mining my own past for several weeks.  I have a publishing arrangement that is in development and it is requiring a very large commitment of time.  Pardon me for sounding so cryptic, but I've agreed not to say anything else until the contracts are signed, etc.

Let me take this opportunity to thank all of you who read my cartoons.  I can't express what your readership means to me and I'm really lousy at those kinds of public display.

Big things coming in the next year, so stay tooned!  I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving.  See you next Tuesday!

Archive Dive: Poo Scoop

I'm digging into my archive for a short period to work on a project I've got going on the side. I've been asked to participate in a publishing venture and the weekly periodical requires a year's worth of color material. So for the next week or so, I'll be sending out some older material until I have time to finish some new cartoons.

Also, I've started my second book which I'm hoping to have ready for distribution by early spring. In the mean time, there are still a few wall calendars left if you're stumped as to what to get that special someone for Christmas.

Thanks, But No Thanks

Today's cartoon is actually a reject from a blog post I illustrate for a CPA firm. The chosen cartoon will appear later in the month. I know you're holding your breath. I'll be appearing in Sacramento on Dec. 11th at Sac-Con. It's in the Scottish Rites Center near Arden Fair Mall. Please, stop by and say hello if you're in the area.

Too Soon For a Christmas Toon?

I'm always inspired by the Christmas decorations that hit department stores around Labor Day. See you Tuesday!

Folding Money Jingles

Here's one for the money. I always enjoyed word play ever since I read John Lennon's book, 'In His Own Write,' but my favorite part of my kitchen scenario is always the joke-in-a-joke on the fridge.

There's still time to order calendars and books if you're stumped about what to get someone for Christmas. Just think, you can cross them off your list and give thanks on Thanksgiving.

Downside Up

Typically, I don't draw cartoons based on current events, but the housing crisis seems to be a continuous topic in the news

Since I mentioned current events, let me remind you, I have wall calendars available for 2012. You can order them here while they last.

Blooming Idiot

My wedding anniversary was last weekend and - for some reason this cartoon came to mind. Hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween. See you on Thursday!
