Leased Of Your Problems

Today's cartoon is inspired by travel. I just came off a two week road trip and we all rented a car to tool around Minneapolis. This lead to a flood of jokes revolving around how well rental cars can handle abuse, etc., and this idea popped into my head

Just a reminder; I'll be signing books at Sundance Books this Saturday, Oct 1st from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Reno, NV. If you're a reader, please stop by and say hello.

Beer Thirty

I have two immediate book signings on the horizon. The first is this Sunday at Sac Con in Sacramento, California from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the second is at Sundance Books in Reno, Nevada on October first. I'd love to meet any of you readers, so if you're free, please stop by and say hello.

Stocking Stuffer

I hope it's as nice for you to read a new cartoon as it is for me to post one. My real job has been much more demanding of my time in the last month and the unfortunate byproduct is less time to draw cartoons.

On the upside, I'll be signing books at Taylor's Books in Charleston, WV during Art Walk on October 20th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. I'm thrilled they gave me the opportunity to stage this event. My younger brother and his son will be playing music in their coffee shop at the same time. It doesn't get much better that this (for me).

I'll also have a table at the West Virginia Book Festival that weekend (Oct. 22-23). I'd love to have you stop by and chat. See you Thursday!

Archive Dive: Baked To Order

This cartoon has a long history. When my brother and I were bar tending years ago, a young woman who frequented the club scene had one of the strangest hairstyles I've ever seen. It was an enormous dome of hair with the front half dyed blond and the back half brunette. My brother called her 'bundt cake' since we never knew her name.

Fast forward to the peak of Amy Winehouse's popularity and the beehive's comeback. I saw a girl at the movies with a multi-colored massive crown of hair and this idea popped into my head. It took a few tries to get this how I wanted it to look, but I was happy with the result.

I'm going to a twice weekly update for a few months. My regular business has gotten rather pressing in the last few weeks and requires my attention. Please indulge me - I do have to make a living. See you next Tuesday.

By the way - feel free to forward these to your friends if you think they'll enjoy them!

Archive Dive: Under Where?

Gentlemen, you know the bloom is off the rose when she forsakes the discomfort of dental floss for the spinnaker sails. Of course, it's only fair - I'm not sure if man panties were ever alluring.  I'm still on the road, so I'll see you on Friday. Have a great week!

Archive Dive: Disk Respect

Inspiration comes from strange things. This idea came from an email I received that listed a series of t-shirts with funny sayings. When I read the gag line, this image popped into my head. I considered making it a football, but the original seemed funnier so I went with it.

I'll be traveling through Thursday next week, so updates will continue to be sporadic and from my archive. Thanks for your patience and enjoy the weekend!

Archive Dive: Urban Legends

Urban legends fascinated me as a teenager. White alligators in sewers, the Loch Ness monster, etc. I drew this cartoon as a nostalgic remembrance to those curiosities. I didn't notice until I posted it, but the character with the huge feet has two right feet. Where's an editor when you need one?

Archive Dive: I Do Idyl

I originally created this gag for my second strip, Bumma Dude, but it folded before I ever published the cartoon. I've always designed my work to display in black & white, but this is one time where the joke would have worked much better in color.

Sorry about missing Wednesday, I didn't have web access.   More from the archive on Monday. I hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend!
